The members of any orchestra feel most confident playing under the batons of conductors who know from personal experience the ins and outs of performing instrumental music.

An international collection of soloists gathers for this All Saints’ Day celebration to sing the requiems by Michael Haydn and Antonio Salieri with the world-famous Zürcher Sing-Akademie and the Orfeo Orchestra.

Blessed with a ‘golden voice’, Jonathan Tetelman’s meteoric career has taken him to the world’s leading opera houses, while his records have picked up a succession of awards. We heard him alongside Elīna Garanča in 2021 at Müpa Budapest, and he has since become one of the most sought-after singers of Puccini.

Az amerikai folklórból is építkező Gershwin egyike a 20. század jelentős zeneszerző egyéniségeinek.

Ötödik koncertünkön itt lesz velünk minden idők egyik legnagyobb magyar művésze, Perényi Miklós gordonkaművész, akinek elmélyült és tiszta játéka, művészi alázata számunkra, vonós hangszeresek számára évtizedek óta etalon, igazodási pont. Minden egyes, vele közös koncert különleges ünnep.

Whims of a Star is far from the outstanding Hungarian pianist Zoltán Fejérvári, who, through quiet but persistent and hard work, has sold out and celebrated concerts both in Hungary and abroad. With the same devotion and firm talent, the Liszt Prize-winning musician successfully re-established the focus of musical interest in the artistic legacy of the 20th-century Hungarian composer, Sándor Veress.

Olaszországi kirándulást ígér zenekarunk hangversenye, amely a XIX. század ünnepelt nagybőgővirtuózát, Giovanni Bottesinit is megidézi egy romantikus operabetét erejéig. Ezután Paganini komoly és mély érzelmeket is kifejező h-moll hegedűversenye következik. A darab lassú tételét, mely egy szívhez szóló imádság, két, hangszeres bravúrokkal teli tétel keretezi, majd egy népszerű nápolyi dal feldolgozását halljuk, a „La campanella”-t („Harangok”).

A Győri Filharmonikus Zenekar a Nagyboldogasszony-székesegyházban megrendezett bérleti hangversenyén a Musica Sacra történetének egyik legnagyszerűbb és legrejtélyesebb darabja, Johann Sebastian Bach h-moll miséje csendül fel elsőrangú énekművészek és a bécsi Arnold Schoenberg Kórus közreműködésével.

Premierkoncertünkön ezúttal a nagy klasszikus filmzenék esnek áldozatul Janklovics Péter humor-pörölyének, amellyel szétcsap a Star Wars, a Harry Potter vagy épp a Cápa jól ismert dallamai közt.

The Lukács season ticket consists of three concerts full of new joys to discover. Above all, two young conductors. After taking up the baton on the first evening, the seasoned maestro Domonkos Héja will then turn it over to the 31-year-old Gábor Hontvári and the 37-year-old Dániel Erdélyi, giving them a chance to helm the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra for the second and third outings on the subscription.

The Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic Chorus, from Łódź in central Poland, was founded in 1969 and now brings a less familiar piece of its rich repertoire to the Hungarian audience. There is hardly a Polish composer who has not made a mark in the genre of sacred music: this is true of the composer brothers Paweł and Marcin Łukaszewski, who both are in their fifties, as well as of two icons of modern music, Penderecki and Górecki. Finally, our orchestra's concert, conducted by Róbert Farkas, will feature a piece of Christian music, which was written by its composer in his mother tongue to the verses of the Bible: A German Requiem. We also know that Brahms preferred to use the adjective 'human' for his requiem, which this time features the talented young soprano singer Natália Tuznik and the German baritone Holger Falk, equally at home in the theatre and opera genres.

The academic researcher and dedicated performer of early keyboard music Hedvig Jakab, who teaches as an associate professor at the Faculty of Music of the University of Debrecen, will offer us a sumptuous selection of the treasures of four centuries of organ literature from the early Baroque to the present day, naturally with a taste of Bach’s oeuvre as well, with the Toccata and Fugue in D minor.
