Egy amerikai kisvárosban élő egyetemista társaság minden hétvégén vacsorát ad, ahol egy-egy meghívott vendéggel vitaestet tartanak a világ megjavításának lehetőségeiről. Egy alkalommal az aktuálisan kiszemelt vendég helyett váratlanul más érkezik a házhoz, de ők gyanútlanul beengedik az idegent. A békés, világjobbító szándékkal rendezett vacsora hamarosan gyilkos fordulatot vesz, az események láncolata pedig olyan lavinát indít útjára, ami elképesztő méreteket ölt…
