Three friends, longing for a higher status in society, put their lives and those of their families on the line, the day they receive a strange business proposal that promises to turn them into millionaires overnight. Based on a true story, Los Wánabis humorously and sarcastically recounts how, when we are in a group, we are capable of believing the most absurd stories and doing things we never thought we were capable of, especially when they promise to change our reality without us having to make any significant effort. Los Wánabis became the first Ecuadorian film to receive a nomination for the Platino Awards in the category of “Best Ibero-American Comedy.” Also, it has been the first zero waste and carbon neutral film in Ecuador and Latin America.
