The audience of the play, which also evokes the mythological story of Narcissus and Echo, can look beyond the superficial glamour of the narcissistic personality to the mask of narcissism and hubris. It reveals the labyrinth hidden deep within the human soul. What lies behind the carefully constructed exterior? A damaged self-image? A lost child? Or maybe all of these together? Among others, the dance monodrama Narcissus searches for the answers to these questions, using the archetypes of the tarot to show how narcissism can consume human relationships and how those trapped in it can seek a way out. If there is a way out of this maze at all. The play holds up a mirror so that everyone can find a reflection of their own soul—if they are brave enough to face it.
